I red about a lot of diets and I kept all kinds of diets (some crazy).
I have lot's of books on this topic. These books
usually include tables with food calories - it's good for you to have such
a list. It's useful to know how many calories you get if you eat a certain
food.
-
Before the danish diet, I kept several other diets. I disliked Herbalife
(hate is the right word). I lost 5 kg (~10 pounds) in one month,
I paid a lot for it (well, I'm not Bill Gates, you know - not even related...),
and I gained back those kilos in less than two weeks, and I continued to
gain weight... I hated even the taste of it. Don't get me wrong. Maybe
it was my fault... but any of my friends that tried it didn't do much better
than me.
-
I tried a high
protein diet (a kind of Atkins plan). If I think better, this one was
worse (for me) than Herbalife. The diet didn't allow me to eat vegetables
and fruits (as I needed), but I could eat unrestricted amounts of meat,
fish, shellfish, poultry, eggs, and cheese. Jesus, maybe I've got the wrong
diet, but it was terrible... I quitted after several days because I really
felt so bad... so "heavy". And I didn't loose weight. NADA! ZIP! ZERO!
-
I tried the Grepfruit
Diet – gee, I got sick of so MUCH grepfruit (3 weeks!), even if I like
grepfruit. Plus tea or coffee for dinner?!? I couldn't keep that for more
than 3 days...
-
I even tried that "splendid" diet for persons that have nothing better
to do – just eat every two hours! Every morning I went to work with a bag
full of stuff to eat (dry prunes, eggs,
cheese, apple, whatever...). I was really annoyed that I
HAD to eat every two hours. Maybe
this
was the key, you ended up by being sooooo... desperate of eating...
Eat often, small bites... that's not for me! After gaining some more
kilos... I gave up. My metabolism is not made for that type of diet. Not
to mention how my colleagues LOOKED at me (gee, isn't she fat enough,
does she have to eat every two hours? No wonder she's so FAT).
-
I didn't try the diet with cabbage soup. Others were successful
(not for long), but when I thought that I have to eat EVERY DAY
cabbage soup (along with other stuff) for several days... my nerves cracked!
I hate monotony, that's why I prefer now to create my own diets, based
on what I've learned so far, (especially Negative Calorie
Foods).
-
an example of this diet: Crazy
for Cabbage
-
another example of that soup, called The catabolic soup, you can
find
here
or here,
just to know what I'm talking about.
-
Mayo
Clinic considers that it's possible benefits aren't long-lasting.
Once people go off the diet, most quickly regain any lost weight.
-
I bought the book with Demis Roussos diet (the guy lost a lot of pounds,
as you might know). Well, if you have enough money to hire a cook,
you can keep this fancy diet. My mom said Honey, I don't have time for
those crazy fancy diets of Roussos. Just find a "normal" diet for normal
people, and I'll cook for you.
-
I got a book (in Romanian) on food with negative
calories. What this thing means is that such a food consumes more calories
to be "digested" than it brings to your body. Usually they contain a lot
of water, few proteins & fat (few, few). They are rich in minerals
and vitamins. Eating such "selected" food, you can loose weight without
starving to death...
-
I found recently on Internet a company The Equilibria Group that
sells a book called Negative
Calorie Diet Workbook and Cookbook. Don't get me wrong: I don't
encourage you to buy their book (I'm neutral, as we say), but if
you have the patience for their page to load, and good eyes to read those
fancy fonts they use, you can have an idea how this negative calories work.
They also have a
Negative Calorie Diet Newsletter that you can subscribe
(FREE) for it.
-
But if you have time to read (you should, if you're reading this) you should
read what this guy
has to say – it's very close to what I'm trying to say...
-
I have another book that teaches you how to "associate / dissociate" food.
For instance, you should never eat meat with french fries - it's a disaster
for your diet. But you can have meat (associate) with green salad,
for instance - it's perfect. I'll try to include (please give me time)
all "allowed" food combinations in order for you to eat and loose weight
in the same time.

About the Mayo Diet: the problem is there
is NO
Mayo Clinic Diet ! No one knows the origin of the diet myth...
-
What I didn't do (so far...): surgery (read HERE
to see why), hypnosis (who knows what I might found out? That I was Cleopatra?
Or a dog?)
Hey, that's it, for the time being. Continue with the next step! Good
luck
