Motivation for losing weight

AHAAAAAAAA !

You may not believe it, but this is THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE in a diet. If you tried to lose weight (no matter how) and you didn't succeed, THIS is the cause. You weren't prepared...

You have no motivation – there's always something stopping you to follow your diet – you forget (!) that you are on diet – you are sick of so many diets – your metabolism is slow – well, this is how mom "made" me, what's the point in changing that (?) – look at that skinny girl (I hate her) and she eats so much – Jesus, what did I do to deserve that? – who loves me, loves me the way I am right now...

HEY GIRL! Wake up!

You are not happy and you know it, but you don't want to admit it. Don't hide your TRUE feelings. FACE them.
You are UNIQUE, special and ... if you are FAT and UNHAPPY about that, MAKE UP your mind. GO FOR IT.
Decide what you want to do with those extra kilos/pounds. AMBITION & DESIRE - these are the buttons you have to push! Say a prayer!

Learn about your body. It's only up to you to radically change your life. DO you or DON'T you want to do that?
You prefer sitting in the corner and feel (deeply) sorry for yourself?

If your answer is YES, I WILL DO IT. I WILL GET RID OF THOSE DAM'... KILOS/POUNDS THAT MAKE MY LIFE MISERABLE then continue reading this...
If not, I'm really sorry for you...

IF you choose YES, I'll start the diet (how many times have you started a diet?) STOP and think a little bit...

We are not speaking about a three days diet and that's it!

Little bunny! Pay attention! We are speaking here about tens of kilos/pounds. We are speaking about skirts that you can make sheets from, coats that you can make parachutes, panties that you can use for large pillows...

This WON'T BE EASY. Who promises you an easy diet - LIES. There no such thing (for a "gourmand").
There's nothing nice nor pleasant in  this world that can be obtained easily (very few exceptions...). Think that you will have to forget about food, to get rid of this obsession (for several months, years...) But in the end... what a pleasure to look in the mirror!

Essential: Don't consider the diet as you personal enemy. NO !!!

Your diet is your best FRIEND you'll ever get. Follow its advice and you'll have a winner place...

Imagine you are visiting a friend, you look super (tens of kilos less), you're elegant, everyone admires you, you don't mind those (terrible) jokes with FAT ladies (that used to bother you so much), you don't feel "pushed" every time someone makes a comment about food, you own man has new eyes for you (others also...) – and you feel like flourishing, you feel good, beautiful, younger. You know some flowers open later than others - but what a privilege to observe them! BE such a flower!

Trust yourself - if you really want to loose weight, you will loose it.

The ideal...

When I was SOOO BIG... I liked to think how would I look with a nice red short dress, red shoes (!) with high heels.
Something to cut your breath...

I was falling asleep with this thought in my mind.
My mistake was that I... didn't remember anything in the morning... until THAT DAY when I decided yo GO FOR IT.

Falling asleep and waking up with the red dress in my mind and with the big question:
what should I eat today so that soon (one - two years...) I would be able to wear that splendid dress?

Food became a tool for me for reaching my goal. I was no longer the slave of food...
Every evening I was planning what I would eat the next day – and that was what I was eating!
Most of the time (98%...) - I respected my plans.

So pick up YOUR ideal. If you don't like my red dress, you can change it's color, make it longer, shorter... whatever.

It's worth trying, little bunny!

Need more motivation??? Reports indicate that weight loss may mitigate or prevent obesity related disease (coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, and all cause mortality). I suggest you go to www.medscape.com, register for free, and read the article on Current Strategies for Managing Obesity in Type 2 Diabetes. You won't feel like eating after that... GOOD motivation !!!

One more thing...

Forget about QUICK weight loss - it's a fantasy! says Jennifer K. Nelson, a registered dietitian at Mayo Clinic (and I completely agree with her)
"Losing weight fast is a fantasy that only helps unscrupulous promoters get rich quick. If you follow fad diets, the only things you'll lose in the end are your money, your self-esteem and the wrong kind of weight,"
    • Rapid weight loss seems impressive at first, but most of the time the loss is temporary and followed by rebound weight gain.
    • The only way to control your weight permanently is to modify your eating habits. It may be less glamorous but it produces results. (check the Food Guide Pyramid)
    • To lose an average of a pound of fat a week, the "rule of 10" will tell you roughly how many calories to consume if you have less than 25 pounds to lose. Multiply your current weight by 10. For example if you weigh 170 pounds, your daily calorie allowance is about 1,700 calories to maintain that weight.
    • Reducing the number of daily calories by 250 (1,700 - 250 = 1,450) will allow you to lose about a half pound a week (3,500 calories in 1 pound of fat). Add a 30 minute brisk walk four days a week, and you can double your weight loss to a safe 1 pound per week.
    • Don't go below 1,400 calories daily. You need at least that many to get all of the nutrients required for good health. If you weigh 140 pounds or less, add aerobic exercise, such as walking, to your routine while keeping your caloric intake at or above 1,400. Start slowly and exercise sensibly. If you need to drop more than 25 pounds, ask your physician for an appropriate calorie allowance
